WANTED: 25 OF TODAY’S MOST DISRUPTIVE SOCIAL MEDIA COMPANIES
Disruptathon opens call for nominations for social media companies that are challenging the status quo
Disruptathon announced today that it has opened the nomination process for its Disruptathon Social Media event on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. EDT. Disruptathon and The Washington Post Company have joined forces to bring together 25 of the most disruptive social media companies in the world for a day-long session dedicated to business, marketing and networking and an evening showdown and awards ceremony to recognize top finishers as well as all finalists.
Application criteria:
- Social media product or social media communityUnique offer, model and market approach
- Must be able to be present in Washington, DC on September 27, 2011
- Submissions are available on a first-come, first-serve basis
Each company will spend a day of business development prior to the evening contest program where each company will give a 2 minute pitch to an audience of 250 people.
The 250-member Disruptathon audience will rate each presenter on a scale of 1-10 (10 = highest) based on the following four criteria:
- Presentation
- Design
- Model
- Disruptive potential
There’s also a “like” button to indicate which technologies the audience would use themselves. Disruptathon will take the total weighted average of each score to determine the top finishers.
